HMRC Reports On Litigation Results Last Tax Year

HM Revenue and Customs, the UK tax authority, has published information on the outcome of litigation concluded in the 2016-17 tax year against tax avoidance arrangements.

In the 12 months to April 2017, the tax authority won 22 rulings in its favor, lost three (one more than a year earlier), and had one ruling that was mixed.

HMRC lost before the courts, with rulings in 2016-17, for Investec Asset Finance PLC/ Investec Bank PLC; Project Blue Limited (formerly Project Blue (Guernsey) Limited); and Salinger / Kirby.
